Cable Stitch | Crochet Video Tutorial for Beginners | Saturday Stitch Explorers

Welcome to Saturday Stitch Explorers! This weeks stitch is the cable stitch, which is a super easy stitch to learn for beginners because it only uses a double crochet & a long half double crochet. The cable stitch also has a 1 row repeat! 1 row! That makes it even better! I created a simple headband pattern using this stitch, so keep an eye out next week for the full written pattern and video for that pattern.

If you sign up for my newsletter or follow the blog, you will get notified immediately when that pattern goes live :).

If you missed Patchwork Mystery CAL, don’t worry, you can still join the group and the patterns will be available always. My design was the Phoenix Square, and you can find that free pattern here.

Complete video tutorial at of the Cable Stitch is at the bottom of post – for all the visual learners out there.

Do you have a stitch or pattern you’d like a video created? Leave a comment! I’d love to create a video tutorial for you, send me a message from my contact page 🙂 in the “about me”

Are you ready to learn this new stitch?  Let’s get started!

I hope you enjoy this stitch! Happy Crocheting!

To work it with a chain instead of a foundation single crochet:

Cable Stitch Complete Video Tutorial:

What can I make with the Cable Stitch?

The cable stitch creates a nice thick fabric, but is peppered with tiny holes, which makes it perfect for a scarf, or baby blanket that isn’t too hot. I created a headband with this stitch, because of the thickness, but it also lets a bit of air thought which is nice.

I hope you enjoy this tutorial, and if you have any questions or comments, please leave them below, I would love to talk crochet!
