Peacock Stitch
+ Abbreviations

sc – single crochet
insert hook in indicated st/ch/ch sp, yo, pull up a loop, yo, pull through 2 loops.
tr- treble crochet

Pattern is worked in rows- Multiples of 10 + 1 – add 1 for the foundation chain.

video I mentioned a snag. I realized that Ididnt chain thatetra 1 for the foundation chain and it left me short by 1.
Pattern:
For this tutorial I used I Scheepjes Stone Washed (DK) in color 815 (green agate).
To begin, chain any multiple of 10 + 1, add 1 for foundation
Row 1: Sc 1 in 2nd ch from hook, *sk 4 ch’s, tr 9 in next ch, skip 4 ch’s, sc 1 in next ch* rep from *…* to end.
Row 2: Ch 4, turn, tr 1 in first sc, *ch 3, sk 4 tr, sc 1 in next tr (center of 9 tr), ch 3, sk 4 tr, tr 2 in next sc* – rep *…* across, tr 2 in last sc.
Row 3: Ch 1, turn, sc 1 in sp between first & second tr, *
Repeat 2 & 3 to desired height.

What can I make with the Peacock Stitch?
This is a great stitch because it’s only two stitches, and works up in height very fast. I’d recommend using this for a light blanket, a pillow covering or even a nice textured scarf, cowl, or cardigan.

Is the treble stitch the uk and U.S. the double crochet or am I confused
Hi Elaine! Stitches do vary from UK to US, definitely. A US Treble is a UK double. Meaning, in the US a treble is yarning over 3 times to start, then pull through 2 at a time until you have one left on your hook.
