WinStitch Graphing Program Tutorial | Part 1 | Creating a Graph

Hey guys! This is the first post in series about how to create a graph for crochet, cross-stitch, or C2C using the program WinStitch. I absolutely love this program because out of all the programs I’ve tried, it has the most flexibility and creative control.

So far, I’ve tried several, including PCStitch (which is a great program, but doesn’t print a written pattern), StitchFiddle, and more… I’ve detailed my favorites in a post called the 5 Best Graphing Programs.

I created this tutorial as a companion to the Fair Isle CAL 2019, head over and check it out!

This page will be updated with more videos, but here is the home page for all WinStitch Tutorials 😄

🔵 In this video tutorial, you will learn:

  • How to create a graph from scratch
  • How to work the color palette
  • Copy/pasting sections of your art
  • Flipping and rotating your work
  • Printing to PDF
  • Exporting your written pattern.

This is the basis for which you can start to create your own graphs and we will go into more detail in future videos. 😀

🟣 In future videos I will go into more detail on how to:

  • Create graphs using photos and clipart
  • More advanced techniques using color and palette
  • Using the built in templates
  • and more….
