Iris Stitch Tutorial | Beginner Crochet Video Tutorial | Stitch Explorers Series

Hi everyone! 👋🏼 Welcome to Stitch Explorers! It’s a little cold here 🌨 and I wanted to keep up the stitch tutorials for blankets to keep you 🛌 cozy. I hope everyone had a wonderful Halloween 🎃! I spent a little time with my grandbaby Sammy and he was terrified! 🤣 He only walked to three houses before he was ready to call it quits and go home. It was super cold though too.

This Iris Stitch is a beautiful stitch comprised of one stitch and chains, with a one-row repeat! 🙌🏼. I was at the park today and found the most beautiful pansies, and native flowers to use in the photos for this stitch.

This stitch is a wonderful addition to your stitch library, and will work beautifully in scarves, as accent rows for hats, baby blankets, throws, or even a pretty fall cardigan. 😍

For the tutorial I used Scheepjes Stone-Washed DK in color 815.

What can I make with the Iris Stitch?

The sure ease of working this stitch would make it great for blankets in any weight yarn. I think it would look fabulous as an addition for some open-work in between solid areas of a scarf too. You name it! Cowls, scarves, cardigans, and shawls would be amazing with this stitch!

I hope you enjoy this tutorial, and if you have any questions or comments, please leave them below, I would love to talk crochet!
