Hi Tasha. I just love your site. I have been wanting to learn how to do C2C. I crochet chemo caps & lapghan for our local hospis & hospital. I think C2C is going to be great for the lapghans. Thank you so much for your help. I do have a question, will the S that you show in your video on making chuncky yarn out of thin yarn work for just making 2 stands out of a light weight yarn
Hi Marilyn! Thanks so much for stopping by. The “S”-method works best when using one strand of thin yarn to make it super chunky, but I imagine if you want to use two strands of thin yarn, then make the “S” with those two strands, and work from two skeins – you most certainly *can* do that. I haven’t tried that yet, but it sure sounds like fun. I bet it makes for a super super bulky yarn too. Using two strands and pulling from two skeins is a little different method, but I imagine it would yield the same or similar results. Perhaps a little more cumbersome to work with two skeins though, but I’ve had pattern testers work some of my more bulky patterns pulling from two skeins and it worked great. The “S” method definitely works best with one thin (2 or 3 weight) yarn.
Regarding the C2C, absolutely! I really love C2C for one color blankets or lapghans too, because once you get rolling with it, it’s one of the stitches you can almost do with your eyes closed, or watching TV.
Hope this helps, and thanks for commenting <3
