Crochet Daisy Granny Square Tutorial

Hi everyone! 👋🏼 Welcome to Stitch Explorers! 🤗. If you’re new to Stardust Gold Crochet, welcome! 🧶 In this post you’ll learn how to create this cute, lacey Crochet Daisy Granny Square!

This daisy square is, once again, my new favorite. I wish I had a 1000 hours to make *all* the crochet patterns right? Feel me? 😂 The Daisy Square consists of 4 rounds, and depending on what size hook and yarn you are using, its measurements will vary. My sample square measures 4.5″ (11.4 cm), using Scheepjes Stone-Washed DK.

What can I make with the crochet daisy granny square?

I’m thinking this square would make a wonderful throw pillow, sweater, beach cover up, the sky is the limit! It would also look great as a blanket using a thicker yarn, or even a chunky yarn. Perhaps a boho scarf, or even a cute market bag.

dc3-cl – double crochet 3 cluster:

Yarn, Materials & Notions

For this tutorial I used Scheepjes Stone Washed (DK) but you can use any yarn in your stash.

(Color A) color 821 (pink quartzite)
(Color B) 828 (larimar, blue)
(Color C) 817 (citrine, yellow/green)

Hook: 4.5 mm hook.

Crochet Daisy Granny Square Pattern:

SOLID version – no color Changes

To begin, create a magic circle, or chain 4 or 5. Join the chain and work Round 1 into the center of the chain.

Round 1: Sc 12 into center of ring, join with a sl st in 1^st sc (12 sc)

Round 2: (Ch 11, sl st in next sc) 12 times (make 1st sl st in base of join)

Round 3: Sl st in each of next 6 chs of 1^st loop. Ch 4, sc 1 in the 6th ch of next loop, ch 4 (dc3-cl, ch 4, dc3-cl in next loop. *Ch 4, (sc 1 in 6th ch of next loop, ch 4) two times, (Dc3-cl, ch 4, dc3-cl) in next loop. Repeat from * two more times. Ch 4, sc 1 in 6^th sl st from beg of round.

Round 4: Sl st 1 in each of next 2 chs, ch 3, dc2-cl in same ch-4 space, ch 4, sc 1 in next ch-4 sp, ch 4, (dc3-cl, ch 4, dc3-cl) in ch 4 sp at corner. *Ch 4, sc 1 in next ch-4 sp, ch 4, dc3-cl in next ch-4 sp, ch 4, sc 1 in next ch-4 sp, ch 4, (dc3-cl, ch 4, dc3-cl) in ch-4 sp at corner. Repeat from * two more times. Ch 4, sc 1 in next ch-4 sp, ch 4, sl st in 3^rd ch of ch-3 from beg or round. Fasten off. Weave in all tails.

MULTI-COLORED – with color changes

To begin, create a magic circle, or chain 4 or 5. Join the chain and work Round 1 into the center of the chain.

Round 1: (Color A) Sc 12 into center of ring, join with color B using sl st in 1^st sc (12 sc)

Round 2: (Color B) (Ch 11, sl st in next sc) 12 times (make 1st sl st in base of join) (12 petals)

Round 3: (Continue with Color B) Sl st in each of next 6 chs of 1^st loop. Change to Color C in last sl st, ch 4, sc 1 in the 6th ch of next loop, ch 4 (dc3-cl, ch 4, dc3-cl in next loop. *Ch 4, (sc 1 in 6th ch of next loop, ch 4) two times. (Dc3-cl, ch 4, dc3-cl) in next loop. Repeat from * two more times. Ch 4, sc 1 in 6^th sl st from beg of round.

Round 4: (Continue Color C) Sl st 1 in each of next 2 chs, ch 3, dc2-cl in same ch-4 space, ch 4, sc 1 in next ch-4 sp, ch 4, (dc3-cl, ch 4, dc3-cl) in ch 4 sp at corner. *Ch 4, sc 1 in next ch-4 sp, ch 4, dc3-cl in next ch-4 sp, ch 4, sc 1 in next ch-4 sp, ch 4, (dc3-cl, ch 4, dc3-cl) in ch-4 sp at corner.
