Vega Sweater Crochet Pattern Inspiration
The Vega Sweater is my first true sweater pattern and I wear it all the time. I absolutely love it. At the time I started designing it, two tones were all the rage. The trend is long gone, but I suppose two tone sweaters will always be in style (at least I hope so).
I use a worsted weight yarn, which is a great choice for a positive ease sweater. The Vega is a comfy sweater, with a simple stitch pattern and uses just a few skeins of yarn.
It has a simple style too, which makes it perfect with jeans or dress slacks. It’s a beginner-friendly pattern, so If you are new to crocheting, this sweater is great because it has very few color changes.

The Vega Sweater Crochet Pattern
Remember to add this to your list of easy crochet sweater patterns or first sweater crochet patterns. I used Lion Brand Yarn in 24/7 Cotton for this pattern in some of my favorite colors. Off-white (ecru) & a subtle orange brown (camel).

24/7 cotton stands the test of time of colorfastness and washing repeatedly. My mesh top from last summer is still very colorful and bright.

+ Pattern Notes:
- The pattern is worked in rows.
- Chains do not count as stitches.
- Construction is a front panel, back panel, and two sleeves, sewn according to the diagram.
- Negative ease until worn. This yarn tends to stretch with wear, so if you choose another yarn, the ease will be slightly negative, but loosens with time.
- Consistency in tension helps with the long half double crochet stitch.
