crochet honeycomb stitch Tutorial

The crochet Honeycomb stitch is a great stitch to create market bags, tops, skirts, and so much more.  It is an easy stitch for beginners to learn, and easily modified to create a smaller hole.

This is a modified version of the original Honeycomb stitch, I created this smaller version for the Honeycomb Mesh Tee Crochet Top – a free crochet pattern you can find here. The crochet honeycomb stitch worked perfect for this top and soooo many good reviews came out of it!

  1. So if this is made in 2 panels and sewn together, why is an adult size youth/xs so big? I even used a smaller hook than suggested. its 32 inches wide?! is that right?

    • I used basic sizing guides from the crafty yarn council to get the measurements for the sizes. So I’m not sure. Wish I could help more. It’s an easily customizable pattern, so just do a measure, and create that number of chains, and work the pattern to your special shape.

    • The sizes are based on Crafty Yarn Council sizes. The pattern is worked top down. The length of the top portion of the top includes the sleeves.
