Rustic Tweed Puffy Crochet Ornament
Pattern
PATTERN: RUSTIC TWEED PUFFY ORNAMENT PATTERN
All About the Yarn…
I used Impeccable Tweed Cream – you can use scraps too, it’s a simple pattern. Use a 4 weight for a larger ornament.
Materials & Notions
Suggested Yarn: I used 4-weight yarn (Impeccable Tweed)
Estimated Yardage:
- Hook Size: 5 mm (USA H) or 5.5 mm (USA I)
- Scissors
- Darning Needle
- Raffia (optional)
- Polyfill or yarn scraps
Sizes / Finished Measurements:
4” X 4” (10 cm x 10 cm)
Abbreviations
- ch(s) – chain(s)
- st(s) – stitch(es)
- yo – yarn over
- hdc – half double crochet
- fsc – foundation single crochet
- sl st – slip stitch
- sp – space
- puff – puff stitch
Stitch guide ✨:
hdc (half double crochet): Yarn over, insert hook into stitch, yarn over and pull up a loop, yarn over, pull through all loops
fsc (foundation single crochet): Step 1: Chain 2, insert your hook into the first chain, yarn over and pull up a loop, yarn over and pull through one loop to create a chain. Step 2: Yarn over and pull through both loops to complete one single crochet. Step 3: For each additional stitch, insert your hook into the chain you just made, yarn over and pull up a loop, yarn over and pull through one loop, then yarn over and pull through both loops.
puff st (puff stitch): (yarn over, insert hook, yarn over and pull up a loop) × 2 times — you’ll have 5 loops — yarn over and pull through 4 loops, yo, pull through 2 loops)
sl st (slip stitch): Insert hook into stitch, yarn over, and pull through both the stitch and the loop on your hook. Used to join rounds or create a smooth edge.
