This pattern is worked in corner to corner crochet. I used the chain 5, chain 2 method. If you are not familiar with C2C, please see my post on C2C Basics. It contains a full video tutorial to help you work this pattern.

PATTERN:

Chart Size: 83 x 87(this is a large graph for C2C – recommend creating a swatch and using the C2C blanket size calculator, [link below] to determine blanket size approximates)

If you are familiar with C2C already you can skip to the pattern.

Below you’ll find the C2C & Row by Row Versions for both right and left hand.

What is C2C? 

C2C means corner-to-corner crochet. You crochet tiny squares working diagonally, using double crochet, half double crochet, or even single crochet!

Some designers even use bobbles to work C2C patterns. C2C can be created using so many different stitches. Including sc or hdc (micro and mini C2C). Micro would be great for larger graphs!.

You can use ANY weight yarn with graphgan patterns.  I chose to use a 5-weight yarn because I wanted to make it with plushie yarn and a little larger.  But this graph & pattern can be created using 4-weight, or even 3-weight (although it may be smaller)

All About the Yarn…

I went with Parfait Chunky Yarn yarn for my Blooming Bones Sugar Skull C2C & RBR blanket pattern because it’s a bulky weight plushy yarn and the colors are beautiful.  Super soft and comfy, perfect for a baby blanket and it’s lightweight and safe and free from chemicals.

Yarn Substitutions:

As I mentioned above, you can use any yarn you’d like.  But, if you are looking for a similar 5-weight yarn to Parfait Chunky Yarn – here are a few options to choose from.

Materials & Notions

Suggested Yarn:  Because of the nature of the C2C / Tapestry options – use whatever yarn you’d like to meet the needs of the size you’re trying to accomplish – there are calculators and estimated sizes for varying yarn / hook sizes below.

Yardage Needed:  This will completely depend on what yarn and hook size you use. To help with getting an accurate yardage, create a swatch in the stitch you are using, then weigh it. I have some yardage calculators here. To determine in each color, I take the number of stitches in each (listed below) and enter them into ChatGPT along with my swatch weight / stitches / rows / and walla! It spits out your approximate yardage needed (love technology!)

  • The C2C version of this pattern uses double crochet C2C, 2 weight yarn + l
  • You’re welcome to use hdc C2C, Micro C2C, or even work the graph as a single crochet graph (this will make a great wall hanging!)

  1. Hello, I tried to download the pattern for today, the Blooming Bones Sugar Skull blanket, October 09 2025, and I have filled out the form, and no pattern comes in the email. I did note you have changed your delivery to email, but this pattern is a “today only”, and even though I am a member, this pattern is not listed in the active products. Is there a way to simplify this process? Is there a way to click on just the pattern for the day? I would certainly help with the comments , just asking, I am 78 years old, and sometimes finding these patterns is extremely difficult.

    • Try a different email perhaps? It’s been tested and works, but I will be adding it to the products section for the Infinite Yarniverse members this weekend. I was in a crunch sorry about that.

      • Could you explain more? I m new at crochetingI can now mosaic crochetI love this pattern and row by row seems easier to me but i don’t know how to “transform” the c2c pattern
